Living in Europe for many years is evident in Denise's work.
She combines the past and present creating new and exciting artwork.
This painting revolves around the original clay sculpture by Michelangelo.
Traditionally an oil paintings starts from dark to light, the latter being thickest in paint.
Here the opposite has taken place, texture has been added to the original canvas, and the highlights are open to the base. Strong contrasts and angular lines create a powerful painting.
